ATTENDANCE
STUDENT ABSENCE
Parents/guardians are asked to telephone the school before 9:00 a.m. at 613-825-2185 to communicate any absences or lates. Messages
can be left on the school answering machine, which is in service from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.. When leaving school during the
day, students must have a note signed by a parent/guardian or be signed out at the office by a parent/guardian.
LATES
Whenever students arrive after 9:15 a.m., they must sign in and obtain an admit
slip from the office. If unnecessary lateness persists, parents/guardians are informed, and other actions may be taken.
APPOINTMENTS/MESSAGES
Please send a note with your child whenever he/she has to leave during the day for an appointment. This will allow your child
to be excused from class without any interruption. We would appreciate your assistance in refraining from calling the school
to relay a message to your son/daughter during class time.
STUDENT ATTENDANCE
Students are expected to attend school every day and to participate in all organized activities unless they are ill. If an
appointment requires that a student miss part or all of a school day parents/guardians are asked to send a note, if possible
in advance. Research concerning student success in school clearly points to regular attendance as being crucial. Please be
assured - if a child comes to school and becomes ill during the day we will make him/her as comfortable as possible until
his/her parent/guardian can make the necessary arrangements for the child to go home or to a caregiver.
